Ajit Kumar Doval was born in the village of Ghiri Banelsyun on January 20, 1945. His father’s name is G. N. Doval who is Major was in the Indian Army.

He completed his schooling from King George’s Royal Indian Military School that is located in Ajmer. He earned a Master’s in Economics in 1967 after graduating from Agra University.

As you have heard, in 1999 a passenger plane IC-814 was hijacked by terrorists he was the main man talking to them. He was instrumental in putting an end to fifteen hijackings of Indian Airlines planes between 1971 and 1999.

For almost ten years, Ajit has volunteered to lead the Intelligence Bureau’s operative wing. Doval was the one who established the Joint Task Force on Intelligence (JTFI) and the Multi-Agency Circle (MAC), serving as its chair.

Ajit has the distinction of having defeated six of Laldenga’s seven leaders during the Mizo National Front insurrection. Having spent a considerable amount of time in both Burma and China, he was instrumental in the integration of Sikkim with India. Additionally, Liviu Radu, a Romanian ambassador who had been taken prisoner by the Khalistan Liberal Force, was saved by him.

In addition, Ajit Doval also worked as an undercover officer in Pakistan for  7 years, declaring himself as a Muslim in order to give India crucial intelligence. He was able to persuade Kuka Parray in Kashmir in 1990, which made it possible for Jammu & Kashmir to have a state election in 1996.

In January 2005, he retired from his position as Director of the Intelligence Bureau. Then, He was made a founder and director of the Vivekananda International Foundation in 2009. On May 30, 2014, Doval was named India’s fifth National Security Advisor. He ensured the safe return of 46 Indian nurses from a hospital in Tikrit, Iraq in July 2014. Doval, with Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag, led troops. The campaign was against insurgents beyond the country’s borders.
